What does a volunteer fire fighter do?
As a volunteer fire fighter you will take part of activities as a career fire fighter would. What's the difference? The pay is the difference. As a volunteer fire fighter you volunteer your time to the Association for free. We do not earn money as volunteer fire fighters?
What kind of emergencies will I get to respond to?
CRFA responds to all kinds of emergencies. The most common we respond to are natural cover fires, structure fires and vehicle fires. CRFA also assists with EMS (Emergency Medical Service) calls as well. We have EMT's and EMT First Responders that respond to all kinds of medical emergencies in our fire district.
Why should I join the Calhoun Rural Fire Association?
Simple, if you are looking to help your neighbor in their time of need, or you are just a thrill junkie, then fire fighting is the way to go. We embark on all kinds of adventures, and at the same time we get to help our fellow neighbors in their time of need. We take pride in our fire department, and most of all we all like to have a good time when working with each other. We are a family!
