Facial Trauma

Rescue 5 responded to the 300 block of S. Olive St. to an alarm of a male subject with an injury to his face. Upon arrival on scene First Responders assessed the patient and discovered that he had been involved in a minor car accident earlier the same evening. His condition had worsened since the accident which is why he called EMS. The patient later refused transport by Unit 17 to the hospital. All units went in service.

Febrile Seizure

Rescue 5 responded to the 200 block of W. Tenth street to an alarm of a two year-old child possibly having a seizure. First Responders assessed the child and determined that the seizure was most likely a febrile seizure. GVMH Unit 17 later arrived on scene and agreed with the assessment. The patients parents later refused transport by GVMH Unit 17.

Syncopal Episode

Rescue 5 responded to the 300 block of S. Maple St. to an alarm of a female subject whom had a syncopal episode earlier in the day and had not been feeling well ever since. First Responders assessed the patient and assisted GVMH Unit 17 with loading the patient into the ambulance. The patient was later transported to GVMH ER for further treatment and evaluation.

Cardiac Arrest

Rescue 5 responded to the area of E. Main St. to an alarm of a male subject not breathing. Upon arrival on scene first responders were informed by a Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy that the subject was deceased and no CPR was required. The patient was later transported by Vansant Mills to the Vansant Mills Funeral Home.

Trauma

Rescue 5 responded to the 500 block of N. Maple St. to an alarm of a 65 year-old male patient bleeding. Upon arrival on scene first responders discovered that the patient had fallen off of a ladder and received several injuries. The patient later denied the need for an ambulance however the patient was transported to GVMH by private vehicle.
