Firefighter Appreciation Banquet

20120302-002619.jpg

Calhoun Firefighters and First Responders were honored to be invited by the Calhoun Methodist Church to attend a Calhoun Firefighters and First Responders Appreciation Banquet on February 29th 2012 at 6:30 P.M. Along with members from the Calhoun Methodist Church citizens of Calhoun were invited to attend as well. Firefighters and First Responders were treated to a spaghetti dinner and were even treated to a wide selection of homemade desserts.

Following the dinner the church held a ceremony to honor our Firefighters and First Responders. Parish Margie Briggs spoke about the dedication and service of our personnel and member of the church Verna Walters treated the Firefighters and First Responders to a song she wrote for them.

Our Firefighters and First Responders were all issued a Certification of Appreciation from the church as well as a nicely framed edition of the Firefighters Prayer. Indeed it was a humbling and very kind gesture from the church and the citizens of Calhoun whom attended.

We as a fire department are very grateful for the kind gesture and kind words we received that evening. We would like to thank all whom attended, and all who helped plan this event.

Lonnie Price Memorial Bowling Tournament

Firefighters will be participating in the Lonne Price Memorial Bowling tournament this Saturday February 18th at 10:10 AM. All proceeds from the event go to the Lonnie Price Family to help with funeral costs. We encourage everyone to come out and support the Price family during their time of need.
