Rescue 5 responded to the 400 block of N. Maple St. to an alarm of a patient whom had fallen and needed assistance up. First Responder’s found the patient on the floor and assisted him back to bed. No injuries noted.

Lift Assistance

Severe Hip Pain
Rescue 5 responded to the 800 block of NE 701 road to an alarm of a male patient complaining of severe hip pain. Upon arrival on scene first responders assisted GVMH Unit 17 with patient care and loading of the patient in the ambulance. With no other needs required, Rescue 5 went in service.

Medical Standby
Rescue 5 responded to the Calhoun Highschool Gymnasium for medical standby for the homecoming basketball game. First Responders reported no injuries to anyone during the game. Rescue 5 went in service with no action taken.

Investigation
Rescue 5 responded to the area 800 block of NE 52 HWY to an alarm of a hay bale fire. Citizens stopped by the fire station and alarmed fire fighters of the situation. Upon investigation the property owner stated he had the fire under control and did not require any assistance. Rescue 5 went in service.

Hip Pain
Rescue 5 responded to the 800 block of NE 701 road for a patient that has chronic hip problems and can not walk because of the pain he is experiencing. Upon arrival on scene first responders examined the leg and later assisted GVMH Unit 16 once they arrived on scene. Patient was transported by Unit 16 to GVMH for further treatment. Rescue 5 went in service.

Low Blood Sugar
Rescue 5 responded to the 300 block of E. Main St. for a patient having a heart attack. Upon arrival on scene first responders assessed the patient and determined the patient was experiencing hypoglycemia. GVMH Unit 16 arrived on scene and gave the patient glucose which ultimately raised his blood sugar to normal levels. The patient refused medical transport, Unit 16 and Rescue 5 went in service.

Suicidal Subject
Rescue 5 responded to an alarm of a suicidal subject. Rescue 5 and GVMH Unit 16 staged until deputies made contact with the subject. The subject had fled the scene prior to Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene. The subject was later found and it was determined that he did not require medical attention. All units went in service with no action taken.

Medical Emergency
Rescue 5 responded to the 100 block of N. East St. to an alarm of a male patient with a medical emergency. First responders assessed the patient and assisted GVMH Unit 16 with patient care. The patient was later transported to GVMH Unit 16 to GVMH ER for further treatment and evaluation.
