Lift Assistance

Rescue 5 responded to the 400 block of N. Maple street to an alarm of a patient that had fallen and needed assistance up. Upon arrival on scene First Responders assisted the patient to his feet and back in to bed. The patient was not complaining of injuries and EMS was not needed.

Mutual Aid – Natural Cover Fire

Brush Truck 4 and Rescue 5 responded to the area of Y HWY and NE 300 RD to an alarm of a mutual aid request from Windsor Four County Fire Department for a natural cover fire. Windsor FD advised that they had two natural cover fires and they were needing assistance with one of the fires. Upon arrival on scene firefighters assisted Windsor FD with the extinguishment of the natural cover fire. The fire was extinguished within a couple of minutes and Brush Truck 4 and Rescue 5 went in service.

Severe Hip Pain

Rescue 5 responded to the 800 block of NE 701 road to an alarm of a male patient complaining of severe hip pain.  Upon arrival on scene first responders assisted GVMH Unit 17 with patient care and loading of the patient in the ambulance. With no other needs required, Rescue 5 went in service.

Lift Assistance

Rescue 5 responded to the 400 block of N. Maple street to an alarm of a  patient that had fallen and needed assistance up.  Upon arrival on scene First Responders assisted the patient to his feet and back in to bed.  The patient was not complaining of injuries and EMS was not needed.

Investigation

Engine 3 responded to the 300 block of W. 1st street to an alarm of a house full of smoke and all residents have been evacuated.  Upon arrival on scene the back door was opened for venting and firefighters made entry to investigate and search for the source of the smoke.  Firefighters determined that the smoke was coming from the residences’ wood stove.  Once the smoke had cleared out from the residence, Engine 3 went in service.

Lonnie Price Memorial Bowling Tournament

Firefighters will be participating in the Lonne Price Memorial Bowling tournament this Saturday February 18th at 10:10 AM. All proceeds from the event go to the Lonnie Price Family to help with funeral costs. We encourage everyone to come out and support the Price family during their time of need.

Medical Standby

Rescue 5 responded to the Calhoun Highschool Gymnasium for medical standby for the homecoming basketball game. First Responders reported no injuries to anyone during the game. Rescue 5 went in service with no action taken.

Hay Bale Fire

Brush Truck 4 responded to an alarm of a hay bale fire in the 800 block of NE 52 HWY. Firefighters arrived on scene and discovered six round hay bales on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire without any further loss to the property.

Investigation

Rescue 5 responded to the area 800 block of NE 52 HWY to an alarm of a hay bale fire. Citizens stopped by the fire station and alarmed fire fighters of the situation. Upon investigation the property owner stated he had the fire under control and did not require any assistance. Rescue 5 went in service.

Hip Pain

Rescue 5 responded to the 800 block of NE 701 road for a patient that has chronic hip problems and can not walk because of the pain he is experiencing.  Upon arrival on scene first responders examined the leg and later assisted GVMH Unit 16 once they arrived on scene.  Patient was transported by Unit 16 to GVMH for further treatment.  Rescue 5 went in service.
