Red Flag Warning

Henry County has been placed under a red flag warning today due to record high temperatures, dry vegetation and strong gusty southwest winds. It is advised to postpone any burning planned for the day. If you spot a fire we ask that you please call 911 immediately and report the fire.

 

Medical Emergency

Rescue 5 responded to the 100 block of N. East St. to an alarm of a male patient with a medical emergency.  First responders assessed the patient and assisted GVMH Unit 16 with patient care.  The patient was later transported to GVMH Unit 16 to GVMH ER for further treatment and evaluation.

Motor Vehicle Fire

Engine 3 and Brush Truck 4 responded to the 700 block of NE 901 RD to an alarm of a motor vehicle fire threatening a nearby structure. Upon arrival on scene firefighters discovered a single passenger car fully involved with fire. The vehicle was parked approximately 5 feet away from the nearby mobile home. Firefighters dampened the fire enough to pull the vehicle away from the structure and finished extinguishing it.  The vehicle was a total loss but there was no damage to the mobile home.

Seizure

Rescue 5 responded to the 900 block of NE 800 RD to an alarm of a 22 year-old female patient experiencing seizures. First responders assessed the patient and assisted Windsor Medic 1. The patient was later transported by Windsor Medic 1 to GVMH for further treatment and evaluation.

Motor Vehicle Accident

Engine 3 responded to the area of NE 300 RD and V HWY to an alarm of a single vehicle rollover accident with injuries. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the patient sitting on the side of the road out of her vehicle. The patient was later transported by GVMH Unit 16 to GVMH ER for further treatment and evaluation.

Mutual Aid – Structure Fire

Engine 3 and Tanker 1 responded to Brandon Rd. in Windsor for mutual aid to the Windsor Four County Rural fire department for an unoccupied commercial structure fire. The building is reported as a total loss.

Investigation

Engine 3 responded to the 100 block of N. Olive St. to an alarm of a strong smell of propane in the area. Firefighters responded and investigated the area and no action was taken.

Medical

Rescue 5 responded to the 400 block of S. Olive street to an alarm of a male subject with food stuck in his throat. The patient was later transported by GVMH ambulance to GVMH ER.
